The building was completed in 1853 and will be 170 years old this year. Over the course of its’ years, it served as City Hall for over a decade.

Gallier Hall has hosted important figures from Jefferson Davis and General Beauregard to the Russian Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff to The King and Queen of Spain. It was considered the most important building in New Orleans during the pre-war period. Today, Gallier Hall acts as an intersection between the old and modern New Orleans, as it relishes in historic antiques, art, and furniture, while also hosting innovative and forward thinking events such as New Orleans Entrepreneur Week.
