Jim Coulter is a founding partner of TPG Capital, one of the world's largest private equity firms. Founded in 1992, TPG manages over $55 billion in assets in more than 130 countries. Coulter is also co-chair of the Leading Education by Advancing Digital (LEAD) Commission. The LEAD Commission was created in response to a challenge from the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Department of Education to develop a blueprint detailing the opportunity for using technology as a catalyst to improve American education. Coulter also serves as a member of numerous corporate and charitable boards, including Common Sense Media, Creative Artists Agency, J. Crew Group, and the Vincraft Group. He is on the board of trustees for Dartmouth College, Stanford University, and San Francisco University High School. Coulter holds a B.A. in business and engineering sciences from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
