A Boulder-based serial-entrepreneur and investor, Jim Moscou has helped to shape young companies in and around the world of natural/organic products for nearly a decade. For his work in the industry, DETAILS Magazine dubbed Jim in 2013 a “Maker of the Year”, one of 34 honorees that included the likes of Pharrell Williams, Nike, and Cadillac. The magazine described the compiled list as, “maverick thinkers who have shrugged off the status quo and battled the headwinds of convention to bring creations to life.”
Previously, Jim served as managing director of one of the most successful boutique creative shops in the United States — TDA_Boulder — an agency known for shaping such food brands as Chobani, Chipolte, Izze Soda and Justin’s Nut Butter. He also served as a senior strategist at Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, the agency of the decade, 2000s (AdAge), where he worked on Al Gore’s climate change messaging as well as Microsoft’s global marketing campaigns, some of the largest in advertising history. Prior to his brand strategy work, Jim was an award-winning journalist for 16 years, working around the world, reporting or editing for such esteemed media as Newsweek, US News & World Report, The New York Times and Editor & Publisher. During his journalism career, Jim won dozens of awards, and in 2001 was chosen as the American Journalism Fellow at Oxford University.
Jim also holds a B.A. in International Policy and Economics from Hobart College, and a Masters of Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder
